Privacy Policy

Who we are

Dmix AI ("Dmix", "we") runs the website and app at dmixapp.com. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.

Information we collect

• Account details: your email address, password (stored only in hashed form), and, if you add them, your name, username, region and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
• Your content: the photos, video clips, songs and other files you upload, the instructions and messages you send to the Dmix AI assistant, and the scenes and films we create for you.
• Billing information: your plan, purchases and credit balance. Card and wallet details are entered directly with our payment processor. Dmix never receives or stores your full card number.
• Communication preferences: whether you've agreed to marketing emails, and which ones.
• Technical information: basic data your browser sends when you use the site, such as IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. Our hosting and security systems use it to run and protect the service.

Information we do not collect

We don't sell your personal information. We don't use advertising trackers or tracking pixels, and we don't run third-party analytics tools on the site.

How we use your information

• To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• To turn your uploads and instructions into scenes and films, and to store them for you.
• To process payments, apply your plan and keep track of your credits.
• To send emails about your account, such as sign-up confirmation, password resets and film notices.
• To send marketing emails, only if you're subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any marketing email.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, fix problems, and meet our legal obligations.

Service providers we use

We share information only with service providers we use to run Dmix AI, and only as much as they need:

• Cloud hosting, database, sign-in and file storage, which hold your account and uploads.
• Stripe, which processes payments.
• AI providers, which receive your instructions, and the images or clips needed, to write and generate scenes.
• Video-assembly services (Shotstack, and our own servers hosted on Railway), which receive the media for your film while it's being made.
• Resend, which sends our marketing emails, and our email provider for account emails.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• YouTube, only when you press play on an embedded YouTube video.

International transfers

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of that country.

How we protect information

Uploads are kept in private storage that only your account can access. Media is shared with our services only through short-lived links. Access to our systems is restricted, and data is encrypted while being sent. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

How long we keep it

• We keep account information and content while your account is open.
• Deleted projects stay in Recently deleted for 30 days, then are permanently removed.
• We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting laws require.
• If you ask us to close your account, we delete or anonymize your information, except what the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. You can also withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To make a request, email support@dmixapp.com. If you're not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Dmix AI is not intended for children under 13. Users under the age of majority need permission from a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let account holders know by email or in the app.
